Henry Kravis
Henry Kravis is one of the leaders and founding partners of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, which happens to be a highly successful private equity firm. He currently serves on the firm’s investment and portfolio management committees. Prior to his current position, he worked with his cousin George Roberts at Bear Stearns, where the two of them were mentored by Jerome Kohlberg.
In 1976, Henry Kravis, together with Kohlberg and Roberts, initiated the KKR firm. Thirty years later, the firm has successfully transformed into a leading global alternative asset manager handling more than $48 billion worth of assets.
Henry Kravis holds a BA degree in Economics from the Claremont McKenna College, as well as an MBA degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. For the past few years, Henry Kravis has been part of the board of directors in several private and public companies.
Currently, he serves as the director/trustee of numerous educational and cultural institutions including the Public Television Channel 13/WNET New York, the Mount Sinai Hospital, the Rockefeller University, as well as for the Partnership for New York City.
In addition to all his duties, Henry Kravis also serves as a co-chairman for the New York City Investment Fund, which operates to create jobs for the unemployed and to help the small businesses within the City of New York.
